Our fifth addition is from the Carter/Trinity litter of May 2008, born at Genesis Shilohs in Ontario, bred by Michelle Bowler. We named this beautiful baby girl "Ruby" because she's such a gem. She's got her daddy's temperament, super calm, very sweet and confident. However there's something about her very reminiscent of our first Shiloh, Sarge. Ruby has attained her Canadian Championship in only two weekends! She stands 28", is super athletic, and she possesses that unique Shiloh Shepherd intelligence in spades! Our sixth addition is from the Carter/Pepper litter of December 2008, born at Semper Fi Shiloh in North Carolina, bred by Barb and Doug Kirtley. It took us a while to come up with a name for her, but given our red theme and in honor of Peter's mother we settled on "China Sun". China reminded us a whole lot of Poppy when she was a babe, however she's morphed into the spitting image of Carter! We're seeing magnificent color, great bone and movement, a bold and outgoing personality mixed with the sweetness we'd expect out of Carter and Pepper! China will be very busy on the show circuit this summer! Our seventh addition is "Holly" out of our own Poppy, sired by Shadowgate's Chain (Vision's Chain of Command). Holly is our first "smooth coated" Shiloh Shepherd, an absolutely striking bi-black and tan. She was such a special puppy in this litter that we just had to keep her for our own. Holly started her show career with a bang, winning Best of Breed puppy at the Toronto Sportsmen's Show, Spring 2010. Look for her at the shows this summer! It is our opinion that while there are breeders with good intensions in every registry, we are far more impressed by the dogs and satisfied with the health testing being done by the breeders of the TSSR and NSBR registries. We are strong advocates of health testing, and firmly believe that no dog should be bred that hasn't passed an adult OFA or OVC Hip and Elbow certification. Our dogs will only be bred if they have good or better OFA or OVC hips and elbows, Cardiac and Thyroid testing. As the Shiloh Shepherd is still a very young breed of dog, we feel the benefit of these tests to the future welfare of the breed is paramount. We are proud members of the ISSDC, the International Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club. If you are interested in joining our Shiloh Shepherd online discussions, please join our "Shilohs" Yahoo Group.
