Our
search resulted in us finding our second Shiloh, Carter from Mt. Airy Shiloh
Shepherds. Carter is an exceptionally large boned boy with an incredibly gentle nature. He has passed all his health testing and is the proud sire of many beautiful from puppies out of Makeeda from Raid the Wind Kennels, Phenix from Tantara Shilohs and Trinity from Genesis Shilohs. Carter is currently at stud.
Our third
addition, Cadie, is from a wonderful breeder in Canada, Kellisa Shilohs. Cadie's pedigree is directly related to one
of the four foundation bitches used to create the Shiloh
Shepherd, Super Sweet Sabrina Selah. We feel very honored to
have her entrusted to us, as her pedigree is very valuable
in maintaining specific characteristics so beloved in this
breed.
Our fourth addition is our own Carter-daughter, Poppy! Poppy was born in May 2007 out of Raid the Wind Mountain Makeeda, bred by Wendy Fullerton. At only 4 months of age, Poppy took 2 "Best in Show Puppy" wins, and impressed the judges with her beautiful structure and effortless movement. Poppy is maturing beautifully! Our fifth addition is from the Carter/Trinity litter of May 2008, born at Genesis Shilohs in Ontario, bred by Michelle Bowler. We've named our new baby girl "Ruby" because she's such a gem. She's got her daddy's temperament, super calm, very sweet and confident. However there's something about her very reminiscent of our first Shiloh, Sarge. It should be interesting to see how she grows up, but I don't want her to do it too fast! LOL
 It is our opinion that while there are breeders with good intensions in every registry, we are far more impressed by the
dogs and satisfied with the health testing being done by the breeders of the TSSR, NSBR and SSBA registries.
We are
strong supporters of health testing, and firmly believe that no dog
should be bred that hasn't passed an adult OFA or OVC Hip
and Elbow certification. Our dogs will only be bred if they pass OFA or OVC
hips and elbows, OFA thyroid, CERF and OFA Cardiac. As the Shiloh
Shepherd is still a very young breed of dog, we feel the
benefit of these tests to the future welfare of the breed is
paramount.
Sarge had a
brilliant start to his show career but has since been
retired due to an OFA diagnoses of hip and elbow dysplasia at two years of age.
Sarge is a breed and Canadian Champion, also having earned
his CGN (Canadian CGC equivalent) as well as his herding
instinct test, HCT1. We are very proud of Sarge, and he'll always be our very own champion of champions!
We continue to be active on the
show circuit with Carter, Poppy and baby Ruby soon too! Carter
has earned his Canadian, Breed and International championships, in addition to his HCT (at only 8
months of age) and his CGN. Carter and Cadie both passed their Adult Temperament Tests with Gun Fire in 2006! Cadie was just 5 months old at the time, so the test doesn't technically 'count' in her case. But Carter is now TT certified! Cadie also scored well on her Herding Instinct Test in October 2006, passing with flying colors! Be sure to watch her Movie! Poppy earned her Canine Good Citizen award at the ISSDC National in 2008. We have very high hopes for Poppy this coming year.

Our Tribute to Hooch

Please visit the webpages dedicated to our magnificent gentle giant - our Leonberger, Hooch. He was the most
wonderful dog, my best friend, with a heart of gold and a coat to
match. Hooch came from renowned Swedish bloodlines, but
was purchased as a pet and therefore neutered as a pup. He
remained the top dog around here until the very last wag of his tail. We will never forget his soft eyes, never ending smile, and complete joy of life.
