About Carter...

irbCanCH Kai-Lyn's Carter of Mt. Airy, HCT, TT, CGC

Born February 3rd, 2005, Carter made the flight from Maryland to Ontario at 12 weeks of age. His breeder is Nancy Dietz of Mt. Airy Shiloh Shepherds, and he is TSSR registered. Carter's sire is PB&T’s New Beginnings Sierra (aka Noah) and his dam is GV NS arbCh Catoctin’s Shining Star CGC,TDI (aka Shy).

Carter is an NB2, 2nd generation Boz outcross. Carter is a brown sable, plush coat. His litter consisted of both smooth and plush coats, from varying shades of sable to black bi-colors. Sire "Noah" has produced awesome offspring with the ladies he's been paired with, and his progeny health testing results are exemplary to date.

Carter is a very heavily boned boy who at 3 years of age was 29.5 inches tall, weighing 122 lbs. He's still growing! His head is very substantial, perfectly shaped ears, lovely wide forehead, and wonderful dark pigment. His coat is very thick, with tons of feathering. Carter has much developing yet to do and we anticipate him to reach 30 inches and likely 130 lbs. when mature.

At just eight months old, Carter passed his Herding Instinct test impressing the tester with his drive, enthusiasm and gentle nature toward the five sheep. Carter earned his Breed Championship in 2007, and his International and Canadian Championships in 2008.

Don't let this big, masculine boy fool you! Carter's strongest attribute is his sensible and accepting nature. He's gentle and friendly with kids, adults, seniors, and other animals...the perfect temperament for Therapy work. There's nothing he loves better than to bury his big head in your lap. He's extremely affectionate and prefers to sit 'on' you, rather than simply 'beside' you! And you simply couldn't ask for a better breed ambassador at any public event. Whether he's crawled over, poked at, hugged or patted by strangers young or old, Carter takes it all in stride. He shows a particular affinity for children and puppies, no matter WHAT they do to him!

Carter is a stud dog with full health testing, passing his OFA Hips (scored "Good"), OFA Heart, OFA Thyroid, and CERF (eye) tests, plus his OVC Hip and Elbow evaluations. He passed his adult Temperament Test with gunfire with a score of 95, and his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test as well.
