Poppy is our stunning young lady out of our "Kai-Lyn's Carter of Mt. Airy" and "Raid The Wind Mountain Makeeda". She has a strikingly bold appearance combined with a baby-doll personality. Poppy is one of those "great movers" in the show ring, with many a judge commenting on her beautiful side gait. She's just a very athletic girl! Her littermates are all doing well and proving to be beautiful representatives of the breed. We expect Poppy to produce puppies that are very typey, heavily boned, with beautifully correct head structure, carried forward of course via her daddy "Carter" and her massive mama "Makeeda".
We completed Poppy's health testing the day after her second birthday. She recieved her adult OFA results with OFA "Excellent" hips and OFA "Normal" elbows! Her TLI level is 9.9. At 11 months we had her heart examined via color-doppler earning an OFA Normal Cardiologist certification. Poppy has passed her Canine Good Citizen test, her Herding Instinct Test with certification, and she's an International Champion!

We've been studying sires for Poppy's 2009 litter for about a year now, and it came down to a very short list of excellent prospects. We have finally decided that her first breeding will be with the incredible "Chain" of Shadowgate Farm Shiloh Shepherds in Alvinston, Ontario. Maintaining type, health and temperament are our priorities, and we are confident that Chain will carry these important qualities forward through Poppy.
Chain is out of Artus and Chelsea. I've known Chain since he was a puppy, and I've been watching him throughout his magnificent show career. He is a multiple Best in Show winner and has attained the titles of Puppy of the Year, National Select, and Grand Victor! Chain has passed his Canine Good Citizen test, and is also certified as a Therapy Dog. Many of Chain's offspring continue to do very well on the show circuit having inherited their daddy's excellent conformation. For additional information and photos of Chain, please visit his page on the Shadowgate Farm website: Chain
I anticipate Poppy and Chain will throw their exceptional bone, correct structure and effortless movement. I expect a mix of plush and smooth coats in rich shades of red, dark brown, dark grey sables, and even possibly duals like Chain. Both Poppy and Chain have outstanding temperaments, enjoy great health and have many Excellent Hips in each of their pedigrees.
I have to add that I'm very excited about combining Carter's line via Poppy, with Chain. This litter will contain double Artus and one time Boz, and should work well with many Kye, Bullet, Cade, Orbit, and non-NB lines. If you would like information on possibly using a Poppy/Chain pup in your breeding program, I'd be very happy to run the numbers for you. I expect to produce true "Shiloh type" through the strong presence of the ancestors listed in the charts below, plus beef up some of the bulk, bone and pigment that I think our breed would currently benefit by.
If you are interested in placement on our waiting list I'd love to hear from you. And if you have any questions, I'd love to hear from you!
We're currently accepting applications for "pet" homes in addition to select "show/breeding" homes. Thank you for your interest in this litter.
